Simple Tips

Installing Your Tire Chains

01

Test fit your chains before you need them. Be sure you have the correct chains for your tire size. Consult your owner’s manual if you are unsure.

02

Lay the chains out flat on the ground to untangle and inspect them for irregularities. Make sure they are not twisted or knotted.

03

Install the tire chains on the drive wheels of your vehicle, which are typically the front wheels for front-wheel drive vehicles and the rear wheels for rear-wheel drive vehicles.

04

Check for proper clearance of your vehicle. Then, drive a short distance and check the chains to make sure they are properly secured and adjusted. Never drive over 30 MPH.

Fairly easy to install. Have not had to use on ice/snow yet but looks like they will work well.

Ask a question
The tensioners are sold in pairs, do you need 1 pair per tire? so 2 pairs of tensioners for each pair of chains? riley asked on December 4, 2023

Hello, you would need one pair of tensioners per pair of chains. If you need additional assistance, please give us a call at 866-528-3689 and one of our chain experts would be happy to help.
