Simple Tips

Installing Your Tire Chains

01

Test fit your chains before you need them. Be sure you have the correct chains for your tire size. Consult your owner’s manual if you are unsure.

02

Lay the chains out flat on the ground to untangle and inspect them for irregularities. Make sure they are not twisted or knotted.

03

Install the tire chains on the drive wheels of your vehicle, which are typically the front wheels for front-wheel drive vehicles and the rear wheels for rear-wheel drive vehicles.

04

Check for proper clearance of your vehicle. Then, drive a short distance and check the chains to make sure they are properly secured and adjusted. Never drive over 30 MPH.

These are my first set of diamond chains.(same design logging equipement uses offroad, reason I chose these) Chains worked great! Aside from breaking 1 tensioner on first day. And definately needing to add extra tensioners to keep chains from slapping inner fenderwell at minimal 15mph. I live 3.5 miles back on deadend road in highlands of Maine.(road only plowed first 1.5 miles in) I had to leave for short while for surgery and didnt keep the road open. Plus a short section interacts with snowmobile trail. Once they groomed it, my truck wouldn’t make it up the hill. Slapped these on, few trial drives to get set right on tires. I was up hill and back home no problems. Plus used chains once on just one side of truck. To get unstuck from sinkhole in road, in beginning of mud season.(chains not mud rated per say) I don’t like that inside of chains are cables. I’ll replace with chain when those break. But overall for the price. They are definately worth the investment. I’ll be able to rebuild these no problem as needed. Photos wouldnt upload. Had some good one.

Good chains. I bought these to go on my 33″ off road tires. I wasn’t sure they would fit but they do fit perfectly. Tested them out and they were easy to put on. The mountain snow will not stop me this year.
