Simple Tips
01
Test fit your chains before you need them. Be sure you have the correct chains for your tire size. Consult your owner’s manual if you are unsure.
02
Lay the chains out flat on the ground to untangle and inspect them for irregularities. Make sure they are not twisted or knotted.
03
Install the tire chains on the drive wheels of your vehicle, which are typically the front wheels for front-wheel drive vehicles and the rear wheels for rear-wheel drive vehicles.
04
Check for proper clearance of your vehicle. Then, drive a short distance and check the chains to make sure they are properly secured and adjusted. Never drive over 30 MPH.

My daughter was moving to the Cascades mountains in Washington. I thought it prudent to get her all-terrain tires and chains. The first set of chains I bought were cable chains. They were the nominal size for the AT tires, but the physical size of the tires was too big and the chains didn’t fit. After a spritely and responsive email exchange, Chains r Us set me up with a pair of EasySox, which they promised would fit in spite of the slightly bigger AT tires. Success and mission accomplished.
