Simple Tips

Installing Your Tire Chains

01

Test fit your chains before you need them. Be sure you have the correct chains for your tire size. Consult your owner’s manual if you are unsure.

02

Lay the chains out flat on the ground to untangle and inspect them for irregularities. Make sure they are not twisted or knotted.

03

Install the tire chains on the drive wheels of your vehicle, which are typically the front wheels for front-wheel drive vehicles and the rear wheels for rear-wheel drive vehicles.

04

Check for proper clearance of your vehicle. Then, drive a short distance and check the chains to make sure they are properly secured and adjusted. Never drive over 30 MPH.

Q & A

what is the weight difference between the two and four link designs Kenneth Vogel asked on December 27, 2023

Hello, I apologize normally you would be able to see the weight of each chain SKU. Choose a 2-Link in your tire size, then choose a thickness and note the weight, then choose 4-Link same tire size and thickness and check the weight for that SKU to compare the two. We are having a technical issue currently and the weight spec is not displaying as it should. One of our chain experts would be happy to assist you if you give us a call at 1-866-853-1359.
